If you've spent any time around a cat, you're familiar with the typical meows, purrs, and occasional hisses that it makes -- all normal cat sounds. But this sound is something entirely different. It can almost be described as . . . talking?
It's kind of like this little guy is trying to talk or mumble or maybe chirp? The sound is so unique and cute we can hardly believe it! We're lucky this owner got it on tape.

You can see the little guy staring intently outside. Then he opens his mouth and emits such a weird sound! He's staring at birds, and it's almost like he's trying to chirp back? You've got to listen to it!
According to Catster, one of the theories about why cats make this noise is that they're mimicking the bird's noise so the cat can get closer. Of course, this would occur in the wild when cats could actually catch the bird - not behind a window.
One of our favorite facts about cat noises, provided by Pets WebMD, is that cats in the wild only meow when they're kittens, and then they grow out of it. So why does your cat meow? Well, to communicate with you of course! Domestic cats meow solely to communicate with humans.
Don't forget to watch the video below, the noise is unbelievable! And share this with all your friends and family that had no idea that cats could make this noise.
